Resource book: Eyewitness: Africa
Africa: The Land of Stewardship curriculum was released in
June, 2002, and is a stand-alone unit. It is a great way to study the
fascinating continent of Africa with its incredible variety of people and
cultures. Start at the top of the continent and "safari" down
from Egypt, to the bulge countries, to the Congo, and end up in South Africa.
Compare Islam to Christianity, study the animals of the Savannah and jungle,
read about the true life adventures of missionaries, and dress
like pharaohs. Kids will never forget dressing like Tuaregs,
cooking Ethiopian injera, trading at a Moroccan bazaar, going on a Pygmy hunt
with bells and a volleyball net, making a Zulu shield, crafting a
Masi necklace, dramatizing the Ashauti culture, and studying the
diamond mines of South Africa.
