KONOS Compass
REVISED 5/99
The KONOS Compass is a 149 page "How-To"
implementation guide for moms to help them put KONOS to work for their
families with ease and confidence. There are a number of decisions that
must be made before implementing KONOS. For instance, each volume of the
curriculum is two year's work. Are you going to do ½ the first year and
½ the second or are you going to do all of the book the first year
lightly and then the same material the next year more thoroughly?
Many moms wonder how one gets in all of the math and language arts
materials and still has time for hands-on KONOS activities. A number of
family schedules are shown so you can see what matches what your family
schedule might be. The Compass has the scope and sequence in it comparing
KONOS to a traditional textbook type program grade by grade. It also
teaches mom how to teach creative writing taking kids from beginning
writers to intermediate and eventually fluent writers.
Lastly, the Compass has a
math and language skills checklist grade by grade so you can easily
determine where your children are in these two areas. Moms who say,
"I've got my Volume I, now what do I do with it on Monday
morning?" will appreciate the Compass because it is going to tell
them what to do on Monday morning!
