Should I buy KONOS In-A-Box
or one of
the Original Volumes?
The questions to answer first are,
"How much hand holding do you need?" or "How stressed or
stretched are you?" If you answer, "Tons," to the first and
second question, we recommend KONOS In-A-Box. KONOS In-A-Box was
written for the novice as well as the veteran teaching three high
schoolers and four elementary kids. KONOS In-A-Box relieves the
elementary end by:
- Analyzing the literature,
- Teaching writing,
- Answering questions,
- Providing books,
- Furnishing crafts,
- Giving daily lessons.
Of course the same hands-on KONOS
activities are still the mainstay of the curriculum. Instead of daily
lesson plans, the new Obedience Unit has daily lessons. You will notice
Day One Morning - Bible, Literature and Language Arts and Day One
Afternoon - KONOS Activities throughout the sample. Many KONOS moms do not
want to be told what to do on Thursday morning but many others are saying,
"Go ahead. Make my day easier. Tell me what to do on Thursday morning
and Friday afternoon and the rest of the week too." It goes without
saying that there is still great flexibility in KONOS but the help in
structuring and implementing this USER FRIENDLY curriculum and combining
it with phonics and math seems to be a welcome addition to so many.
The thought of having a number of neat crafts
and books delivered right to their front door in one box must have gotten to them or
something. When busy moms learned that they could order what they needed
to teach the great KONOS method in one box, open it up and start to teach,
even mother's who already had the regular KONOS Volume I and Compass
bought KONOS In-A-Box!! How does Jessica keep getting so "lucky"
about what homeschooling moms need to teach their children the best way??
Jessica calls the Original KONOS
Curriculum a side of beef. The New Classic KONOS Curriculum
In-A-Box is the side of beef cut, marinated, cooked, cut in bite-size
pieces, chewed and all but swallowed for you. If you need that kind of
help, we recommend KONOS In-A-Box.
